Job summary
The City of Richmond, Virginia’s IT Department is hiring a Technology Engineer/Administrator to manage and troubleshoot production databases, perform backups, and support critical systems. Incumbents will work as subject matter experts, provide after-hours support, and contribute to project documentation and strategic IT initiatives.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 2 years of professional systems/ network engineering experience, with strong SQL
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Two years of journey-level professional systems and network engineering experience.
- Equivalent combination of training and experience may be used to meet qualifications.
- SQL Database Administration is essential.
- Windows SQL 2019+ experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Configuration and troubleshooting of databases and systems.
- Backups and recovery of databases.
- On-call support outside business hours.
- Documentation and updating of project documents and trouble tickets.
- Ensure production uptime and performance.
- Research and document trends for production improvements.
