Job summary

Constellation Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator with full-lifecycle DB management expertise, including Oracle and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB. The role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

The ideal candidate will have a decade of database experience, strong scripting skills (JavaScript, Bash, Perl, Python) and proficiency in Oracle SQL/PLSQL, data migration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or 4 years additional DB experience in lieu of degree
• 10+ years of high-level database experience
• Strong DB administration: migration, replication, user admin, backup/recovery, performance tuning
• Deep knowledge of Oracle and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience with Oracle SQL/PLSQL and general SQL
• Scripting experience (JavaScript, Bash/Linux, Perl, Python)
• Proficient in Java; committed to best practices and task prioritization
• Able to work independently and in fast-moving teams

Responsibilities

• Perform data migration, replication, backup and recovery
• Administer users and monitor database performance
• Investigate and resolve database issues
• Plan and execute maintenance tasks
• Participate in architecture discussions for Oracle/NoSQL DBs

Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph are required for the position.

Required:

• Must be a US Citizen


• Must have TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph


• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline. Four (04) years of additional DB experience can be used in lieu of degree


• Must have at least ten (10) years of high-level, in-depth, dedicated database experience


• Must have in-depth experience as a Database Administrator to include proficiency in tasks such as data migration, data replication, user administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, issue investigation, issue resolution, and general administration


• Must have a solid understanding of databases, primarily Oracle and/or other relational and non-relational/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB


• Must have experience using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, and SQL in general


• Must have experience scripting with JavaScript, Bash/Linux shell scripting (in general), Perl, and/or Python


• Must have knowledge of programming languages to include Java


• Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices


• Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking


• Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently, and with a team, in a fast-moving environment

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and/or as a member of an Agile team


• Experience with Cassandra


• Experience with MongoDB
