Executive Summary: HRUCKUS is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to bring their DBA specific expertise and experience managing mission critical systems/database infrastructure in a high pace and highly regulated industry.

Position Duties:

• Leverage cloud-based database and infrastructure expertise to evaluate database systems for optimization, peak/high volume readiness, and long-term viability. Identify, select, and implement appropriate technology strategies and solutions to enhance database stability and resiliency while managing costs.
• Work with the team to evaluate standards, recommend, and implement/modify procedures to improve database performance and sustainability.
• Enhance database performance observability and reduce issue resolution time.
• Review support procedures for opportunities to improve responsiveness and reduce team fatigue.
• Gather insights and make cost/benefit recommendations.
• Develop detailed action plans based on findings.
• Identify gaps in observability and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate system configurations to improve performance and reliability.
• Leverage DBA and Dynatrace experience to build dashboards that consolidate tools, improve insights, and reduce false positives.
• Coach team on Dynatrace and AI tooling to troubleshoot issues effectively, using Dynatrace as the single source of truth.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience managing critical cloud-based databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, Dynamo DB) in managed environments, including systems administration, network architecture, cloud, and cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of industry standards, trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in technology operations.
• Ability to connect technical details with business context.
• Experience in strategic planning, project management, and implementing technology solutions supporting business goals.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Political awareness.
• 10+ years in technology operations or similar roles, preferably in complex organizations.
• 2+ years proficiency with Dynatrace.
• 7-10 years experience with Idera and OEM.
• 7-10 years experience in database optimization in high-paced environments.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC/Dataguard/Active Data Guard setup and optimization.
• Proven ability to balance cost, performance, and criticality.
