Role:

Delmock Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Mainframe Database Engineer (DB2) to work in a team environment for data discovery and curation. Will be working with a legacy system hosted in a mainframe environment but is an opportunity for modern techniques to create better value.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures DB2 availability and implements recovery strategies and procedures to safeguard data.
2. Diagnoses and troubleshoots errors and performance issues related to SQL queries and database processes.
3. Creates, manages, and maintains database reports to support business operations.
4. Collaborates with a team to identify and apply modern techniques to improve system performance, reliability, and value.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience with IBM System Z (mainframe architecture and systems).
• Demonstrated expertise in IBM DB2 utilities and CA Tools for DB2 for database management.
• Extensive experience with backup/recovery strategies and logging facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of DB2 database management and deployment, including performance tuning and resource optimization.
• Proficient in IBM CICS (Customer Information Control System), batch COBOL, and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Information Management System (IMS).
• Proven ability in performance and capacity tuning of system parameters and resources using monitoring tools.
• Strong skills in problem analysis and resolution for both technical issues and application-related problems.

Preferred/Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Java, web services, SOA concepts.
• Application Management Services experience.
