Job summary

SBA Communications seeks a Database Developer II to support the development, implementation and ongoing day-to-day administration of SQL databases. You will manage database applications and reports, support developers and help optimize/tune queries.

Collaborate with DBAs to analyze client operations, design complex processes, and maintain performance across large environments. A Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering and 3–5 years of MS SQL Server experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
3–5 years of MS SQL Server experience in a DBA or equivalent role.
Experience with T-SQL, SQL replication, ADO, and coding triggers and stored procedures.
Experience in large financial and accounting environments; .NET desirably.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with DBAs to understand database requirements and objectives.
Handle multiple adhoc requests in a fast-paced environment.
Design, code, and implement complex business processes using T-SQL and .NET.
Maintain database performance and resolve production issues.
Install, upgrade, and maintain multiple SQL Servers in large-scale environments.
Develop database solutions including security, backup, and recovery.
Monitor and maintain database performance with DBAs and resolve issues.
Assist in installation, upgrades, and maintenance of SQL Server environments.
Provide support to development staff optimizing stored procedures and T-SQL.
Offer improvement recommendations to the Manager of Database Systems.
Contribute to design discussions around physical structures and integration needs.
Update knowledge via education and professional activities.
Experience with SQL monitoring tools like Confio Ignite and Microsoft System Center.
Write and maintain ETLs for production and test environments.
Ensure end-to-end deployment from test to production.
Deliver excellent service by understanding the business and internal customers.
Ensure complete issue tracking and reporting.
Contribute to other projects as assigned.
