Position Title: Database Architect

Location: Remote
Position Type: Full-Time
Key Personnel: Yes (Designated by Oran Inc)

Position Overview:

Oran Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to support enterprise data integration, modeling, and business intelligence initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data systems including relational databases, data warehouses, and data marts to support storage, processing, and decision-making. This role is critical to Oran Inc’s data strategy and is designated as Key Personnel.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in database development and architecture, data modeling, and enterprise-level business intelligence integration, and can operate independently using judgment and experience to meet objectives and deliver complex solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and build relational databases, data warehouses, and data marts to support enterprise data needs.

  • Develop strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, archival recovery, and long-term data storage.

  • Define and enforce business rules through stored procedures, middleware solutions, and data transformation tools.

  • Create functional specifications and define user interfaces to ensure alignment with business and user requirements.

  • Verify data accuracy, ensure integrity across systems, and maintain database performance and availability.

  • Cleanse and manage datasets, removing obsolete data and ensuring compliance with data retention policies.

  • Evaluate new data sources for compatibility, quality, and ease of integration with existing systems.

  • Perform complex tasks and contribute to ongoing improvement of data architecture, modeling practices, and integration frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in database architecture, development, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data systems, including relational and analytical databases.

  • Ability to work independently, applying professional judgment and experience to accomplish objectives.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience with modern database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

  • Experience with data warehouse and BI platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Power BI, Tableau).

  • Knowledge of ETL tools and middleware technologies.

  • Familiarity with data governance, quality standards, and metadata management.

  • Experience with cloud data architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Understanding of data modeling best practices (star/snowflake schemas, normalization, etc.).
