This role will own database objects and role-based access controls while helping modernize the organization’s analytics environment from a legacy SAS platform to a modern reporting framework. The position combines hands-on Snowflake administration with SQL engineering, Python automation, ETL/data pipelines, architecture documentation, and support for analytics and BI users. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership of data platforms while collaborating closely with data specialists, scientists, report developers, and business stakeholders.

  • Own data governance and architecture, ensuring consistent structures and documenting architecture and program-specific data flows.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and performance-tune complex SQL queries and views.
  • Build and maintain ETL/data pipelines and job orchestration, including cloud scheduling technologies such as AWS Lambda.
  • Manage end-to-end user access requests and role-based access controls (RBAC), including approvals, provisioning, and compliance.
  • Serve as Data/Product Owner for multiple analytics programs and datasets.
  • Support modernization efforts migrating from legacy SAS infrastructure to a modern reporting and analytics environment.
  • Build and improve datasets and reporting while supporting data specialists, data scientists, report developers, and end users.
  • Coordinate, test, and implement database changes and troubleshoot database and data-quality issues.
  • Support version control, code-review processes, technical documentation, and cross-team planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Programming or a relevant field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience; relevant internship experience may count if the required technical skills can be demonstrated.
  • Hands-on Snowflake Database Administration, including implementation, debugging, troubleshooting, tracing, and issue resolution.
  • Experience with data governance and data architecture.
  • Strong SQL/query engineering, including query/view development, troubleshooting, performance tracing, and tuning.
  • Experience developing data pipelines/ETL and job orchestration.
  • Python scripting and automation experience.
  • Experience with cloud scheduling or orchestration technologies such as AWS Lambda.
  • Experience implementing and administering role-based access controls.
  • Experience documenting data architecture and program-specific data flows.
  • Familiarity with version-control systems and code-review processes.
  • Strong communication, customer service, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with SAS.
  • Experience integrating non-Snowflake data sources such as DB2, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, NAS, or SharePoint.
  • Experience with Snowflake cost and storage optimization, including warehouse sizing and compute/storage tuning.
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot, or Agentic AI tools.
  • Familiarity with LeanIX for architecture and dependency cataloging.
  • Experience supporting analytics modernization or migration from legacy data platforms.
  • Strong ownership mindset and comfort working through ambiguity during technology transitions.
