Job summary

PrimeForge Manufacturing in Akron, USA, is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage and optimize our database systems, ensuring data security, availability and integrity across platforms. You will monitor performance, implement backups and DR plans, and collaborate with development teams to design efficient database structures for new applications.

The role requires at least 2 years of DBA experience, a CS-related degree, strong SQL and Python skills, and excellent English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Strong understanding of database management systems (DBMS).
• Proficient in SQL coding and scripting languages (e.g. Python).
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of data backup, recovery, and security protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related products.
• Monitor database performance and tune system parameters for optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery protocols.
• Troubleshoot database errors and perform data recovery when necessary.
• Develop and implement data access controls to ensure data security.
• Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database structures for new applications.
• Create documentation and provide training on database procedures for other team members.
