Job summary

The University of Utah UIT Infrastructure & Operations is seeking a Database Administrator III to ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of enterprise database platforms in Salt Lake City, UT. You will monitor health, perform tuning, backups, disaster recovery, and security controls while partnering with application teams to provision databases and respond to ServiceNow requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 6 years of related experience, or Master’s with 4 years of related experience.
• 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of related work experience.
• Experience managing enterprise databases and ensuring high availability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, performance, security, and reliability of enterprise database platforms.
• Monitor health checks, alert responses, tuning, backups, DR, and encryption controls.
• Collaborate with application teams and stakeholders to provision databases and handle requests.
• Lead platform modernization through automation, cloud adoption, virtualization, and upgrades.
