Temple Health in Philadelphia seeks a database administrator responsible for design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, scripting and vendor tools across Oracle, Microsoft SQL and Cache environments.
The role includes capacity planning, change management, documentation, and providing 24/7 on-call support to ensure high availability, integrity and performance of critical databases supporting patient care and operations.
Responsible for database management which includes design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, scripting, and the use of vendor specific database tools. Responsible for all projects related to Oracle, Microsoft SQL, or Cache as appropriate and provides general support of all systems utilizing database technology. Provides documentation of the database system and ensures it is maintained. Performs capacity planning in conjunction with other system managers to ensure the database has ample space for growth. Follows change management procedures including testing and documentation of all changes, ensuring the integrity of the systems is maintained when applications are enhanced and modified. Provides guidance to IT staff as needed. Consults with and advises users of various databases. Works directly with users to resolve data conflicts. Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Shared 24/7 on-call support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Required or
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required
Experience
3 years experience in database management and administration Required
3 years experience with Oracle, SQL, or Cache management, tuning, and configuration, working in a multi-project management environment Required
3 years experience with Windows and IBM AIX Required
2 years experience working in a healthcare environment Preferred
3 years experience with PeopleSoft and/or Epic Preferred
Licenses
MS Certified Solutions Assc Required or
Oracle Certified Professional Required
