ManpowerGroup’s Experis unit is seeking a System/Software Engineer to support Db2 for z/OS, CDC, and replication technologies. The role covers software installation, upgrades, monitoring, disaster recovery, and security administration within a global team.

Location options include Plano, TX, Jersey City, NJ, or Charlotte, NC with hybrid onsite expectations. Candidates will engage in production support and on-call rotation approximately every six weeks.

• Proven system/engineering background (not DBA-only).
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, upgrades, maintenance, and certification testing.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Develop automation, monitoring, alerting, and operational controls.
• Administer security, RACF coordination, TCP/IP connectivity, and certificates.
• Troubleshoot replication, infrastructure, and production issues.
• Collaborate with global teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation (~6 weeks).

Accepted Locations: Plano, TX; Jersey City, NJ; Charlotte, NC (hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)

Duration: 12-18 months with a possibility of extension and/or full-time conversion with the client

Pay Rate: $53.41/hour

Overview

The client is seeking a System / Software Engineer to support and enhance IBM Db2 for z/OS and replication technologies, including CDC, Q Replication, and SQL Replication. This role focuses on software installation, upgrades, maintenance, automation, monitoring, disaster recovery, security administration, and production support within a global team environment.

• Distributed team (U.S., Mexico, Singapore)
• On-call rotation every ~6 weeks
• Early morning meetings required

Key Responsibilities

• Support IBM Db2 for z/OS, CDC, Q Replication, and SQL Replication environments.
• Perform software installations, upgrades, maintenance, and certification testing.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Develop automation, monitoring, alerting, and operational controls.
• Administer security, RACF coordination, TCP/IP connectivity, and certificates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex replication, infrastructure, and production issues.
• Collaborate with global teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation (approximately every 6 weeks).

Required Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with IBM Db2 for z/OS.
• Experience with CDC (Change Data Capture) and Db2 replication technologies.
• System/software engineering background (not DBA‑only).
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ideal Candidate

• Deep experience with Db2 replication and CDC.
• Strong system‑level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Comfortable working across distributed global teams.
• Effective communicator with vendors and stakeholders.

Note: Candidates with primarily DBA‑focused backgrounds and limited replication/system engineering experience will not be a fit.
