Job summary
Wyetech seeks an experienced Database Administrator to safeguard multiple DBMSs, including Oracle, SQL Server and SYBASE, with a focus on security, performance and availability for federal contracts. The role requires TS/SCI with poly and 10+ years of DBA experience, plus a strong background in Red Hat Linux, AWS databases, and data modeling.
You will manage disaster recovery, tuning, indexing and policy development while coordinating with a DBE on architecture changes and database tooling
Qualifications
- TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly required.
- Ten (10) years' experience as a DBA in programs with similar scope is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
- Four (4) years of additional DBA experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities
- Maintain database integrity, security and availability across multiple DBMS.
- Establish and maintain database user accounts and access policies.
- Implement policies to ensure security and data integrity of databases.
- Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.
- Evaluate DBMS requirements and recommend products.
- Provide server administration for Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE.
- Support disaster recovery, performance tuning, indexing and monitoring.
- Lead data modeling activities and prototype database implementations.
- Coordinate architecture changes with the Database Engineer.
- Direct installation of DBMS, databases, tables and views.
- Oversee database tools and technologies to optimize performance.

Maintains the integrity, security and availability of multiple database(s). Duties include disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data. Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. Evaluates and recommends available database management system (DBMS) products. Performs database and software life‑cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements. Performs Oracle, SQL Server and SYBASE Database and Application server administration. Organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processes.
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

- Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
- Develop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
- Perform database and software life‑cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability
- Support data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementation
- Coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineer (DBE)s
- Direct the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a database
- Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views
- Directs the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies

- Ten (10) years' experience as a DBA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Pay Range: $65.51 - $97.09 per hour.
Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
