Job summary

Provides technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. Designs relational and/or object‑oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. Projects long‑range requirements for database administration and design. Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development, balancing data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls. Works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle from requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). Develops requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and IT subject matter area. Translates requirements and data into usable documents by creating or recreating ad‑hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using cloud methodologies.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and a position‑appropriate security clearance are required (e.g., active TS/SCI clearance with agency‑appropriate polygraph).

  • Direct fulfillment of requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion.
  • Direct organization of requirements and data into a usable database schema by directing development of ad‑hoc queries, scripts, macros and updates to existing queries.
  • Direct the overall database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and negotiate trade‑offs among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.
  • Direct the development of complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using cloud methodologies.
Required Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with agency‑appropriate polygraph.
  • Ten (10) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Pay Range

$64.13 - $116.32 per hour

Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary depending on factors including but not limited to government contract rates, education, relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies, certifications, and geographic location. Hourly pay rates reflect the pre‑benefit gross wage amounts.
