Job summary

i-Link Solutions seeks an Expert Database Administrator to design and maintain enterprise data architecture for a State of NY ITS project. Responsibilities include data modeling, DDL scripting, complex SQL/PLSQL, data conversion, and performance tuning across SQL Server and IBM DB2 environments.

The role requires extensive experience with ER/Studio Data Architect, SSMS/SSIS/SSRS, and related tools, plus collaboration with PMs, analysts, developers, and QA.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing logical and physical data models and creating DDL scripts for tables, views, indexes, triggers, and stored procedures.
• 7+ years designing Data Conversion Strategy Plans, Data Mapping Documents, and Gap Analysis documentation.
• 7+ years writing complex DML SQL against enterprise Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases.
• 7+ years using SSMS, SSMS Job Scheduler, SSIS, SSRS, ER/Studio, QMF for Workstation, Redgate SQL Compare, and TSO.
• 7+ years of SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
• 5+ years performance tuning complex SQL against SQL Server and DB2 databases.
• Specialized Data Modeling Experience with ER/Studio and enterprise data architectures.
• 12+ months experience with ER/Studio Data Architect for enterprise data modeling, metadata management, and DDL generation.

Description

Daily Responsibilities

• Build and maintain enterprise data architecture based on business and technical requirements.
• Design and develop logical and physical data models using ER/Studio Data Architect.
• Create and maintain DDL scripts for tables, views, indexes, constraints, triggers, and stored procedures.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL and DML scripts against Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases.
• Support data conversion activities including data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and migration.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, application developers, solution architects, and QA teams to ensure database solutions meet project requirements.
• Analyze and tune database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
• Work directly with NYS agency representatives to understand business rules, conduct gap analysis, and support data-related initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance development support for QMF for Workstation reporting and query solutions.
• Utilize SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SSIS, SSRS, Redgate SQL Compare, TSO, and related tools to support database administration and development activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data models, data dictionaries, source-to-target mapping documents, process flows, and database standards.
• Support database deployment, version control, data quality initiatives, and change management activities.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on database design and development best practices.

Mandatory Qualifications

• 1 84 months of experience designing and developing logical and physical data models and creating DDL scripts for tables, views, indexes, triggers, and stored procedures.
• 2 84 months of experience designing and developing Data Conversion Strategy Plans, Data Mapping Documents, and Gap Analysis documentation.
• 3 84 months of experience writing complex DML SQL against enterprise Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases.
• 4 84 months of experience working with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SSMS Job Scheduler, SSIS, SSRS, Export/Import tools, ER/Studio Data Architect, QMF for Workstation, Redgate SQL Compare, and TSO.
• 5 84 months of experience using SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
• 6 60 months of experience performance tuning complex SQL against enterprise Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases.
• 7 Specialized Data Modeling Experience
• 12 months of experience using ER/Studio Data Architect to support enterprise data architecture initiatives, including logical and physical data modeling, metadata management, database design, and DDL generation. 8 Hybrid Database Environment Experience
• 24 months of experience designing enterprise data models and writing complex SQL for IBM DB2 z/OS and Microsoft SQL Server environments utilizing ER/Studio Data Architect, QMF for Workstation, TSO, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Redgate SQL Compare.
• 9 Professional Database Certification
• Candidate must possess at least one of the following certifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
• IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2
• IBM Certified Application Developer - DB2 10 Candidate must have at least 12 months experience in the following:
• Experience leading enterprise data architecture and database modernization initiatives.
• Experience preparing technical documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting.
