Thompson Hine LLP is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to join our Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, or Minneapolis offices. The role focuses on moving data from source systems into Snowflake, maintaining on‑prem SQL Server health, and delivering scalable analytics data platforms.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or related field or equivalent experience
• Up to 5 years in data engineering or data warehousing, with at least one warehouse built from scratch
• Strong SQL skills incl. complex joins, window functions, CTEs, stored procedures, performance tuning
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines to a cloud data warehouse, Snowflake preferred
• 3+ years administering SQL Server in production: performance tuning, backups, DR planning/testing
• Experience with ETL/ELT tooling and scheduling data jobs
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users and document work thoroughly

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain ingestion pipelines from source databases into Snowflake
• Integrate data from third-party SaaS platforms (CRM, product analytics, finance)
• Monitor pipeline runs, resolve failures, set up data quality checks and logging
• Document source-to-target mappings, refresh schedules, dependencies
• Design layered warehouse: raw, staging, and presentation layers
• Write/optimize transformation logic (SCD, surrogate keys, late arriving data)
• Partner with analysts to deliver well-defined data products
• Manage Snowflake warehouses, databases, roles with least-privilege access
• Tuning performance and controlling costs (clustering, profiling, monitors)
• Support masking policies and controlled release from dev to production
• Plan, test, and document disaster recovery and high-availability options
• Maintain SQL Server backups, restores, and maintenance plans
• Keep runbooks, data dictionaries, and architecture diagrams current
• Provide data governance and secure development practices
