The Data Warehouse Developer will utilize (BI) development skills, including MicroStrategy, in a highly collaborative Scrum environment. As a part of the BI team, the Data Warehouse Developer will design, implement, and maintain our data warehouse and front end reporting systems that allow users to access to pre-designed reports and self-serve analysis. They will work with data warehouses and utilize Microsoft SQL Server and support our growing brick and mortar gaming facilities. Specifically, the Data Warehouse Developer will perform the following day-to-day job duties: Build and maintain Extraction, Transform, and Load (ETL) and Data Warehouse objects (including Transactional Replication/CDC, SQL Procedures, MicroStrategy semantic model, SSAS, MDS/DQS, BIML, PowerShell scripts); SSIS, Translate business requirements into detailed, production-level technical specifications and data models; Modify existing reports and/or develop new reports by analyzing databases, data sources, structures for the benefit of users; Use SQL including complex stored procedures, common table expressions, analytic and functions, query optimization, and indexing; Design, implement, and maintain normalized, operational data store, and dimensionally modeleddatabase systems; Design and develop ETL processes while utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); Use object-oriented languages such as C#, PowerShell, or Python; Use Agile and Scrum methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes, develop user stories, and work through backlogs; Understand data management and data warehousing technologies related to data modeling, database administration and performance tuning, archiving, and disaster recovery; Work with multi-terabyte data sets; Design and build enterprise conceptual or logical data models; and Contribute to the design and optimization of CDI's data layer as the company's single layer of the truth.
Education Requirement: Master’s degree in computer information technology, computer science, business analytics, data analytics, or a related field.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience as a data engineer or data developer.
Must have work experience in each of the following: 1) designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data warehouse and operational data store architectures, including normalized and dimensionally modeled systems, serving as a single source of truth across business domains; 2) architecting and maintaining sophisticated ETL pipelines leveraging SSIS, BIML, Transactional Replication and Change Data Capture, with an emphasis on scalability, data quality, and performance in high-volume environments; 3) developing and maintaining semantic models and analytical layers using platforms such as MicroStrategy and SSAS, enabling governed self-service analytics while abstracting complex data structures for business users; and 4) advanced SQL development, including complex stored procedures, analytic functions, query optimization, and indexing strategies, specifically tuned for multi-terabyte data environments and mission-critical reporting systems.
