Position: Data Warehouse Architect

Location: Richmond, VA (100% Remote)

Type: Long Term

Note: Need 10+ years of experience.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

1. Experience in architecting and administering enterprise-grade database systems, with at least 2 years focused on cloud-native database services in Azure.
2. Designing and implementing solutions using Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Cosmos DB.
3. Strong understanding of cloud-native design patterns, including statelessness, elasticity, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
4. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
5. Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure Monitor.
6. Deep understanding of data classification, masking, encryption, and RBAC in Azure.
7. Experience supporting highly scrutinized datasets, including audit trail design.
8. Proven ability to implement disaster recovery, high availability, and geo-replication strategies.
9. Developing logical and physical data models that meet performance and transparency requirements.
10. Proficiency with T-SQL scripting, automation, and diagnostics.
11. Ability to evaluate data storage tradeoffs in a pay-as-you-go cloud environment.
12. Participation in design reviews, security assessments, and data governance audits.
13. Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
14. Strong communication skills and experience preparing technical documentation.
15. Experience in Agile/Scrum and modern DevOps workflows.
16. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is a plus.
