Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled by the application deadline.
• Interest in data visualization, maps or interactive experiences.
• Proficiency in CSS, HTML, jQuery and JavaScript.
• Experience with databases, XML, JSON, PHP and/or Django.
• Commitment to accuracy, clarity and journalistic rigor.

Responsibilities

• Report and write articles, edit copy, take photographs, shoot and edit video, and create graphics across platforms.
• Produce audio and design on multiple platforms, including data visualization and interactive tools.
• Develop audience strategies and conduct data analyses in collaboration with newsroom teams.
• Create or assist in building news applications such as data-driven maps, databases and widgets.
