Job summary

The Washington Post invites college juniors, seniors and graduate students to join its flagship summer internship program in Washington, D.C. Interns report and write articles, edit copy, take photographs, shoot and edit video, create graphics, produce audio, design on multiple platforms, develop audience strategy and analyze data.

You’ll work with award-winning journalists, learning from the best while being treated as staff during your internship.

Qualifications

• Must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program by the application deadline.
• Technically adept reporter who works in R or Python with data-driven storytelling.
• Strong writing and visualization skills; GitHub experience a plus.
• Committed to accuracy, clarity and journalistic rigor.

Responsibilities

• Report and write stories, edit copy, take photographs and shoot/edit video.
• Create graphics and produce audio; design for multiple platforms.
• Develop audience strategy and perform data analyses.
• Work with reporters and editors across the newsroom.
