Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Data Technician - HIM to enter patient records and insurance correspondence into the clinical database, and to generate reports supporting Revenue Cycle and Finance. The role includes researching appeals and locating payer letters to resolve denials.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, at least 1 year in medical record procedures or related HIM functions, and strong accuracy and communication skills. On-site work with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in medical record operating procedures and systems (HIM), or in patient case management with medical record duties.
• Knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology and documentation requirements.
• Light typing and ability to operate PC for data entry/retrieval.
