Mesa County is seeking a detail-oriented administrative specialist to input data from court records, audit information, and prepare reports in a secure environment. The position requires two years of college or technical training plus relevant experience, and a Colorado driver’s license.

Performs work of a fairly complex nature which includes using computers, various software and peripheral equipment to input data and create various reports. Assists in depositing and tracking client fees. Work involves compiling information, preparing reports, performing procedures relating to new intakes, typing, and filing. Prepares and tracks legal sentencing documents for the courts, compiles and enters data in compliance with contractual state and federal guidelines.
Must be 21 years of age and successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting.
Two years of college or technical school; and two years of progressively responsible experience in the criminal justice field or related experience; OR Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.

Knowledge of: Principles, practices and procedures related to the operation of computer and office equipment. Terminology related to criminal justice. General office procedures. General book keeping practices.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent is regularly exposed to somewhat noisy conditions of a busy waiting room or residential facility. Will require moving throughout a secure residential correctional facility and having contact with residential Community Corrections clients. The incumbent may work with resistive and difficult people in the performance of their job duties.
