Mesa County is seeking an administrative specialist to support court-related data entry, reporting, and financial processing. You will input data from court records, audit entries, generate facility reports, and prepare daily deposits for client funds.
Qualifications include two years of college or technical training and two years in the criminal justice field, plus proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
$20.62 - $23.20
Performs work of a fairly complex nature which includes using computers, various software and peripheral equipment to input data and create various reports. Assists in depositing and tracking client fees. Work involves compiling information, preparing reports, performing procedures relating to new intakes, typing, and filing. Prepares and tracks legal sentencing documents for the courts, compiles and enters data in compliance with contractual state and federal guidelines.

Must be 21 years of age and successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting. Education and Experience: Two years of college or technical school; and two years of progressively responsible experience in the criminal justice field or related experience; OR Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Colorado Driver's License
Knowledge of: Principles, practices and procedures related to the operation of computer and office equipment. Terminology related to criminal justice. General office procedures. General book keeping practices. Skill in: Use of word processing, spreadsheets and database operation. Communicating clearly and effectively with clients and staff, in writing and in person. Great attention to detail, ability to multi-task in hectic environment without losing accuracy. Operating computer and office equipment. Operating motor vehicles safely.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Effective time management skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, and client program handbooks. Ascends or descends ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs or hands and arms. While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle or seize objects; and to reach with hands and arms. While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent may be required to occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 60 pounds.
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent is regularly exposed to somewhat noisy conditions of a busy waiting room or residential facility. Will require moving throughout a secure residential correctional facility and having contact with residential Community Corrections clients. The incumbent may work with resistive and difficult people in the performance of their job duties.
