DATA SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN
BASIC FUNCTION: Under general supervision, perform tasks related to input preparation, processing, printing, filing, and distribution of data processing materials; coordinate and provide training for specified systems on campus; and perform related duties as required.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide user training on the operation of computers, peripherals, and the student application package.
- Monitor available file space, perform file maintenance, and delete files as needed.
- Project yearly forms usage for data processing, order forms through purchasing, and maintain inventory of forms at the site.
- Back up, reload, and copy data files during critical operations.
- Update the system with new releases and revisions.

- Check and verify student program output, correct and distribute, and verify the completeness of grade forms.
- Create and update discipline, visitation, and comments files.
- Establish and maintain all necessary records and reports; create schedule files.
- Operate computer and peripheral equipment, including bursters, decollators, printers, and optical scanners.
- Organize processing sequences based on school calendar priorities to meet deadlines.
- Perform general recordkeeping and clerical duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with students, staff, and parents as needed to accomplish duties.
