Job summary

The City of New York’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) seeks a versatile Technical Lead to oversee reliability, security, scalability, and automation of analytics and enterprise platforms in Brooklyn. You will guide a team of system administrators and drive cloud and on‑prem infrastructure initiatives.

This role partners with application teams, champions DevOps practices, IaC, CI/CD, observability, and security, and serves as the Senior Director’s technical delegate as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science with 3 years of IT management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of IT experience including supervisory duties.
• High school diploma with 6 years of IT experience including supervisory duties.
• Any combination meeting the above with at least 3 years in admin/managerial roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to staff.
• Oversee day-to-day operation, reliability, security, and performance of infrastructure.
• Design and support cloud and on-prem infrastructure solutions.
• Drive DevOps, including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, observability, and security.
• Partner with application development teams to improve deployment and productivity.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
• Establish standards for monitoring, disaster recovery, resiliency, capacity planning, and performance.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
• Act as Senior Director’s delegate for technical and operational matters when needed.
