City of New York’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) seeks an IT Security Specialist to protect city data across cloud and on-premises environments from cyber threats. You will support defensive security controls, contribute to PoC evaluations, and produce runbooks and diagrams to guide operations.

The role offers mentorship from senior engineers and opportunities to work with agency stakeholders to strengthen security readiness across Brooklyn and NYC systems.

Qualificações

• A baccalaureate degree with four years of full-time related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in configuring, integrating, and operating defensive security controls across hybrid (cloud and on-premises) environments.
• Assist in designing and implementing strategic defensive controls, including cloud-based security solutions.
• Support proof-of-concept evaluations for cloud security tools and document results.
• Maintain cloud architectural diagrams, configuration guides, and operational runbooks.
• Provide technical support and clear communication to agency stakeholders during deployment and integration of security controls.
• Collaborate with internal project teams, business units, and technical stakeholders to align security readiness with deployment schedules.
• Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
