About the Opportunity

The Principal Data Strategist will be responsible for developing and implementing the data strategy for the Dayforce Marketing and other customer-facing departments. This includes identifying business opportunities that can be unlocked through data analytics and data science. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data-driven business models, experience in managing large data initiatives, and a track record of delivering measurable results in a fast-paced environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data landscape, driving the effective utilization of data for Decision Intelligence and AI/ML initiatives.

What You’ll Get to Do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify, catalog, and consolidate critical reporting needs within the organization.
• Discover opportunities to leverage data analytics and data science to support business decisions and operational efficiency.
• Define and align reporting and analysis requirements.
• Set clear objectives and ensure alignment between business and data analysts on goals and success metrics.
• Lead the creation of analytics solutions, including dashboards and data models, to meet business requirements.
• Monitor progress of large data projects and communicate updates to business units and stakeholders.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Define data ownership, stewardship, and access protocols, and ensure adherence to governance rules.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including executives and external partners.
• Communicate data insights and findings effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in data strategy and analytics.

Skills and Experience We Value

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in data strategy, data architecture, BI, or a related field
• Proven experience in designing and implementing data solutions for BI and/or AI/ML projects
• Proficiency in MS Power BI, including data modeling, report development, and visualization
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and passion for data and its potential to drive business value
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, specifically Azure
• Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA
