Job summary

Montgomery Parks, a part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, seeks a Data Strategy Lead to shape how data guides operational decisions, asset management, and budgeting. You will collaborate across divisions to develop standards, dashboards, and reporting that connect service delivery with priorities.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience with dashboards and data standards, and the ability to translate complex data for both technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science, GIS or related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in applications support and development.
• Equivalent education and experience may be substituted (total eight years).
• Valid driver’s license as required by area of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a department-wide data strategy improving operational, asset, budget, GIS, and performance data handling.
• Establish data governance standards, roles, and processes across divisions.
• Identify data gaps and coordinate practical solutions for reliable reporting and decision-making.
• Lead data quality activities: review, correction, standardization, and validation.
