Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Storage Engineer to support the NDOC at the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda, MD. The role encompasses storage engineering, architecture, lifecycle planning, and operations across on-premises and cloud environments.

The candidate will ensure enterprise storage availability, performance, capacity, resilience, and disaster recovery while coordinating with server admins, vendors, and customers in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

Experience managing and administering Veritas Rubrik storage systems.
Scripting with PowerShell and automation experience.
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and DFS.
Ability to mentor junior team members and communicate effectively.
DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification requirement.
Experience supporting 24/7/365 customer environments.

Responsibilities

Design scalable storage architectures across on-premises and cloud environments.
Develop storage roadmaps and reference designs.
Conduct trade studies and technology evaluations for storage modernization.
Plan lifecycle replacements balancing risk and cost.
Create engineering artifacts: diagrams, low-level designs, data mappings.
Optimize storage performance, resilience, and disaster recovery.
