Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro seeks a Data Steward (SAP) to join our Marysville, OH-based team on a hybrid schedule. You will support the implementation and enhancement of data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality and effective management across the organization.

The role focuses on data quality analysis, metadata management, data classification, governance reporting, and privacy compliance, with opportunities to drive improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
• Preferred: CDMP, CDGP.
• 2-4 years of experience preferred.
• Programming experience (Python, SQL).
• Experience with SAP Products (SAP S/4HANA).
• Experience with data integration and data virtualization tools such as AWS Glue, Informatica or Mulesoft.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Strong understanding of data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
• Proven experience in data governance, data analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with data quality tools and metadata management concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Data Quality Analysis: conduct assessments to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
• Metadata Management: document data lineage, definitions, and relationships.
• Support Data Classification and Sensitivity Assessments: assist in classification frameworks and policies.
• Data Governance Reporting: generate and present regular governance metrics and insights.
• Collaborate on Data Privacy Compliance: support compliance measures for sensitive data.
• Contribute to Data Governance Training: assist in training programs across the org.
• Data Impact Assessments: participate in assessments for new projects and migrations.
