Job Details:
As a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for working with our customer data and fulfilling various activities (e.g. migration, installation, cleaning, analysis, updates). You will work with multiple data-sources, including practice management systems, databases and flat-files. You will work on various projects, including data migration, analysis, updates and transformation. You will take ownership of each project and liaise with the end users to ensure successful completion.

Responsibilities:

Data Processing and Development

Process data from a range of source systems to target systems

Data analysis, data collection and cleaning

Data conversion, integrity and verification

Liaise with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle (data validation checks etc.), ensuring requirements are captured and met

Create and maintain data pipelines

Assist other technical teams on database optimisation

Other Duties

Provide assistance to technical teams to resolve data related issues

Work with other departments to improve processes where data is involved

Remote monitoring & diagnostics of data pipelines

Work with technical teams on data backup, maintenance and processing

Work flexibly, including evening and weekends where required

Understand and comply with job relevant company practice standards at all times.

Understand and work with the standard operating procedures

Attend training sessions as appropriate.

Requirements:

Experience with relational databases (e.g MS SQL Server) and ability to write SQL

Data pipeline experience (including migration) using a range of processes

Experience managing and delivering projects successfully

Strong analytical and organisation skills

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with staff and customers

Experience of working in a fast paced and regulated environment

Ability to work within a collaborative team as well as independently

Ability to prioritise and manage own workload whilst meeting deadlines

Experience of an integration technology (e.g. SQL Server Integration Services – SSIS)

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure)

Experience with version control systems, container technology (e.g. Docker) and code quality best practices

Experience with other database systems including non-relational databases

Exposure to a programming language (Visual Basic/C# .NET preferred)

Experience with business intelligence dashboards

Experience of Linux or *nix based operating systems
