Summary
The Digital Care Operations and Data Specialist family provides efficient, patient-centered care services and data management. This role encompasses coordinating virtual visits, managing data, developing training materials, analyzing data, and overseeing operational workflows as it pertains to telehealth & referral services. Under close supervision supports telehealth by working with hospitals, facilities and patients throughout Alaska delivering on-demand training and general assistance with coordination of telehealth visits throughout the Alaska Tribal Health System.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating virtual visits, ensuring accurate patient communication and connection information.
- Facilitate communication between ANMC departments and Tribal Health Organizations (THOs) to ensure seamless telehealth operations.
- Perform clinical data entry and verification in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Support digital check-ins for virtual appointments, including verifying demographic information, obtaining and documenting patient consent, and conducting necessary screening assessments. Identify, verify, and correct missing or inaccurate information in patient records, proactively alerting clinics and providers to discrepancies that could negatively impact visits.
- Track telemedicine data for outcomes monitoring and quality assurance, using automated reports, surveys, and manual tracking as required.
- Provide patient and clinical user training on virtual connection technologies, troubleshooting basic technical issues to support telehealth accessibility.
- Maintain and manage data, identifying missing or inaccurate information.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, electronic messaging, and other communication channels, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of telehealth services.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong understanding of data management technologies, EHR systems, and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data tracking tools.
- Commitment to teamwork and customer service excellence.
Other Information
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Non-Supervisory- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum Experience Qualification
- Two (2) years of medical office or patient care experience.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, EHR systems, and customer service principles.
Preferred Education Qualification
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
Preferred Experience Qualification
- Experience within the Alaska Tribal Health System.
