Mortenson Construction is seeking a Data Solutions Tech Lead to define, architect, and deliver modern data platforms aligned with our strategic data vision. This role combines technical guidance with hands-on development across data ingestion, modeling, and governance.

As a Lead, you will steer solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Medallion Architecture, and Data Mesh, setting standards while actively delivering scalable data products and driving engineering excellence across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in data engineering or architecture.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role with hands-on delivery experience.
• Technical Expertise: Microsoft Fabric (Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh); Fabric Data Factory & Azure Data Factory; Fivetran; Azure Data Services; MSSQL, Oracle & Oracle SQL Developer

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering, development, and delivery of enterprise data solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric.
• Engineer scalable data pipelines, data products, semantic models, and platform capabilities.
• Design and implement solutions aligned with Medallion Architecture and Data Mesh principles.
• Establish and promote engineering standards, development practices, and implementation patterns across the Data Solutions organization.
• Serve as the lead technical advisor for capabilities and platform strategy.
• Engineer proof-of-concepts and prototype solutions for emerging technologies.
• Translate requirements into engineered solutions delivering measurable business value.
• Drive technical execution and ensure successful delivery across initiatives.
• Champion engineering excellence through automation, performance, and reliability.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and align with standards.
