Job summary

XCentium is seeking an experienced Data Architect / Principal Consultant with deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric and enterprise lakehouse design to join our data practice in Boston. In this client-facing role you will lead architecture and delivery of modern data platforms, translating complex requirements into scalable, governed solutions built on the Medallion Architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platform roles.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Eventstream, KQL Database).
• Strong proficiency with the Delta Lake format and its role across Lakehouse tiers.
• Experience with Power BI and DirectLake connectivity for semantic modelling in the Gold layer.
• Knowledge of star schemas in BI and governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and delivery of modern data platforms for clients.
• Design scalable, governed lakehouse solutions built on Medallion Architecture.
• Translate business requirements into robust data platform designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver PoCs and production-grade implementations.
