Job summary

Avalore is seeking a Data Security Engineer to ensure the security and compliance of the WDP data platform and related tools. You will implement data protection, manage access, and collaborate with governance teams to apply data security policies and risk controls.

You will design safeguards, perform risk assessments, enable encryption, and support audits while delivering training and maintaining up-to-date security documentation.

Qualifications

• SECRET Security Clearance Required.
• Junior level certifications: CCSP, Cloud+, GICSP, GISF, GSEC, or Security+.
• Senior level certifications: CCE, CISSO, CISSP-ISSEP, CySA+, FITSP-O, GCLD, GCSA or GSNA.
• Bachelor's degree required for all levels.
• US work authorization; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Implement data protection measures and data security controls.
• Manage user access and permissions for data tools.
• Design and implement data classification and handling procedures.
• Conduct security risk assessments for data systems.
• Monitor for unauthorized data access and respond to incidents.
• Configure access control systems and encrypt data at rest and in transit.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation and deliver security awareness training.
• Participate in security audits and implement DLP strategies.
