Job summary

AE Business Solutions is seeking a Data Security Engineer to protect sensitive data across enterprise systems. This contract-to-hire role offers up to $155K when converted to FTE, with health insurance, PTO, and a 401K match during the contract portion.

Responsibilities include designing and managing data security solutions, risk assessments, governance, and incident response. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and communication with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, information technology, computer information systems, MIS, engineering, or related field preferred.
• A combination of an associate degree, military or professional cybersecurity experience, and relevant cybersecurity certifications may be considered.
• At least two years of cybersecurity experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement appropriate standards and criteria for data security requirements.
• Design, develop, deploy, and manage enterprise data security solutions, including DLP, encryption, cloud data protection, governance, and compliance.
• Apply knowledge of data discovery, classification, encryption, masking, tagging, and data governance.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate data security threats, including third-party risk.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy data protection measures and security best practices.
• Provide expert guidance on data privacy management and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure data security KPIs are tracked, measured, and reported.
• Monitor and respond to data security incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Review data security policies and standards and address enhancements and regulatory changes.
• Build relationships and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
