Job summary

SAIC seeks a Data Scientist in Rock Island, IL to join the Advanced Analytics Team. You will work with the Army Vantage Data Analytics System to build and implement models, develop algorithms, and run simulations for mission support.

Responsibilities include analyzing mission data, designing mathematical models, and creating tools using Python, TypeScript, Java, or JavaScript, with an emphasis on ML deployment and optimization. On-site role with potential for some remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience; or 8 years in lieu.
• Relational database experience with SQL and keys.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Java, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on data analytics solutions development.
• Experience deploying ML models and optimization techniques.
• Palantir Foundry/Vantage preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze mission data across domains.
• Translate problems into mathematical/computational terms.
• Develop and apply algorithms and models for analytics and simulations.
• Create and maintain software algorithms for data processing at scale.
• Research tools and approaches to enhance Analytics and AI offerings.
• Build new tools using various languages, frameworks, and libraries.
• Support and test an MLOps framework for team analytics work.
• Refine existing apps to meet customer missions.
