Job summary

Onyx Odds in New York (NoHo) is hiring a Data Scientist to help teams across Product, Engineering, Growth, Finance, and Trading make better decisions with data. You’ll design experiments, build datasets and dashboards, and own data projects end to end.

You’ll work with cross-functional partners to translate findings into actionable recommendations, with a focus on user behavior and product optimization. In-office Tue-Thu with US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data science, analytics, or related role.
• Fluent in SQL and Python or R.
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, and forecasting.
• Experience with large datasets and distributed data systems.
• Ability to turn ambiguous questions into rigorous analysis and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical partners.
• Experience supporting product, growth, finance, platform, or internal tooling teams.
• Demonstrated ownership and impact in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Define success metrics with teams; evaluate performance and opportunities.
• Design and analyze experiments for product changes and journeys.
• Investigate user behavior across acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, monetization.
• Build datasets, dashboards, and tools for reliable data access.
• Own data projects end-to-end from scoping to communicating findings.
• Improve event tracking and data quality for core metrics.
• Explain results clearly to technical and nontechnical partners.
• Collaborate with Engineering to strengthen data collection/analysis as product grows.
