Onyx Odds in New York (NoHo) is hiring a Data Scientist to help teams across Product, Engineering, Growth, Finance, and Trading make better decisions with data. You’ll design experiments, build datasets and dashboards, and own data projects end to end.

You’ll work with cross-functional partners to translate findings into actionable recommendations, with a focus on user behavior and product optimization. In-office Tue-Thu with US work authorization required.

Formación

• 4+ years in data science, analytics, or related role.
• Fluent in SQL and Python or R.
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, and forecasting.
• Experience with large datasets and distributed data systems.
• Ability to turn ambiguous questions into rigorous analysis and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical partners.
• Experience supporting product, growth, finance, platform, or internal tooling teams.
• Demonstrated ownership and impact in a fast-moving environment.

The Role.

We’re hiring a Data Scientist to help teams across Onyx make better decisions with data. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, Finance, and Trading to understand user behavior, measure product changes, identify opportunities, and influence what we build next.

You’ll combine strong analytical skills with business judgment. You’ll take projects from the initial question through analysis and recommendations, and build the metrics and tools that help teams answer important questions themselves.

What You’ll Own:

• Partner with teams to define success metrics, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities.
• Design and analyze experiments, including tests of product changes, customer journeys, and growth initiatives.
• Investigate user behavior across acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization.
• Build analytical frameworks, models, and forecasts to inform product and business decisions.
• Develop datasets, dashboards, and tools that make reliable data easier to access and use.
• Own data projects end to end, from scoping the question to communicating findings and recommendations.
• Help improve event tracking, data quality, and the reliability of core metrics.
• Explain results clearly, including uncertainty and limitations, to both technical and nontechnical partners.
• Work with Engineering to make data collection and analysis more dependable as the product grows.

You’ll Do Well Here If You:

• Have 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related role.
• Are fluent in SQL and proficient in Python or R.
• Have a strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, and/or forecasting.
• Have worked with large datasets and distributed data systems.
• Can turn ambiguous questions into rigorous analysis and practical recommendations.
• Communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical partners.
• Have supported product, growth, finance, platform, or internal tooling teams.
• Take ownership and can deliver useful work in a fast-moving environment.

Even Better If You Have:

Experience at a consumer product, fintech, trading, crypto, sports, or prediction markets company.

Familiarity with event-based products, marketplaces, or financial transactions.

Built data tools, reusable datasets, or self-serve analytics workflows.

Experience improving experimentation practices or product instrumentation.

Location:

• This role is based in our NoHo, Manhattan office, with core in-office days Tuesday through Thursday.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Onyx is unable to provide employment sponsorship for this position.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The anticipated base salary range for this position is$150,000–$200,000, depending on experience, impact, and scope, plus target bonus and equity.
