Job summary

Moultrie, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, seeks a Data Scientist to join the Data and Analytics Team. You will own predictive and prescriptive modeling atop Snowflake data, surface insights in BI tools, and deliver model outputs as dataset attributes for downstream systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience in data science or a role with significant applied modelling.
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying predictive models in a business context.
• Strong Python proficiency: using libraries (scikit-learn, pandas) to build and maintain predictive models.
• Experience with classification and regression techniques and evaluating with metrics (precision, recall, AUC).
• SQL proficiency: write clean, maintainable code for modeling in Snowflake with data engineers.
• Experience with Git and standard software development practices: version control, code reviews, branching, CI/CD basics.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into modeling requirements and deliverables.
• Strong documentation practices and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain predictive models addressing defined business questions using Snowflake data.
• Deliver model outputs as attributes that integrate into downstream BI tools (Tableau, Streamlit) and activation platforms.
• Translate ambiguous questions into scoped modeling problems with defined success metrics.
• Communicate model outputs and implications clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Track, document, and monitor experiments and deployed models for reliability and reproducibility.
• Contribute to feature store development and training dataset documentation.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data models support feature engineering and model training.
