About the Role

This is a full-time role that can be based in one of our US hubs or remotely within the United States. We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join Figma's Core Data Science team. In this role, you will focus on enhancing the efficiency of Data Scientists and other data practitioners at Figma by improving data quality, developing internal tools, and applying novel statistical methods to problems specific to Figma. The ideal candidate is passionate about transforming new methodologies into useful tools, has a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, and enjoys creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate cross-functionally to understand existing problems and identify impactful areas for your team.
2. Understand user behavior within Figma through creation of new datasets, metrics, experimentation, etc., and guide decision-making.
3. Develop new techniques, datasets, and tools to answer previously unanswered questions and increase analysis rigor.
4. Design and maintain frameworks that are widely leveraged across the company.
5. Establish partnerships with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, Research, Design, Sales, and Marketing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years relevant experience in Analytics, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
• Fluency in SQL.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems and frameworks (Hive, Redshift, Presto, Snowflake, Spark, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods and experimental design.
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
• Self-starting mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
