Job summary

McKinsey & Company in Pittsburgh is seeking a data scientist who thrives on solving complex business problems with advanced analytics. You will work with data scientists, engineers and product managers to build scalable data science assets and solutions for clients.

You will apply statistics and machine learning to real-world datasets, develop data-driven products, and contribute to our internal toolbox while collaborating in a multidisciplinary team. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering, CS, statistics, data science, or I/O psychology; master's a plus.
• 1+ years of professional data analyst/scientist experience
• Programming in at least two languages: Python, R, SQL, or Scala
• Experience with statistical modelling and ML techniques
• Experience applying analytics in the commercial world
• Software development exposure (e.g., .NET, Java) is desirable but not required
• Consulting experience preferred, especially in people analytics
• Willingness to travel and co-locate as needed
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication of analytical concepts to technical and non-technical colleagues
