Job summary

Themis Insight is hiring a Data Scientist to work in the Fort Meade vicinity. The role emphasizes solving complex data problems by applying mathematics, statistics, and computer science to real-world mission needs.

Required: TS/SCI with a Polygraph. The team tackles data modeling, data processing, and predictive analytics using Python, SQL, and ML techniques. Candidates should have a strong foundation in math and statistics and be able to communicate results to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience; or Associate’s with 5 years in related field.
• Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, ML, Data Science, OR CS; or related with deep coursework.
• Experience designing/implementing ML, data science, and statistical analyses; programming in Python/C; data mining; advanced math concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to extract meaning from large datasets and communicate principled conclusions.
• Create and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing and assessing datasets.
• Translate mission needs into technical requirements and advise on solutions; communicate complex results to non-technical audiences.
• Evaluate competing technical options while staying aware of evolving data capabilities and limitations.
