Job summary

Omm IT Solutions in Ft. Meade, MD seeks a Data Scientist Level 1 for a permanent W-2/Corp2Corp role. The candidate will develop ML, data mining, and statistical models to deliver data-driven insights for customers, and translate SME input into automated analytics.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four years of analytics experience; a Master's can substitute for two years, or eight years with no degree. Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering or computer science with four years of analytics experience.
• A Master’s degree may substitute for two of the years of experience and one year of programming with data analysis software such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, an additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for a total of eight years of analytics experience and two years of programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce data visualizations that provide insight into dataset structure and meaning.
• Collaborate with SMEs to identify important information in raw data and develop scripts to extract this information.
• Incorporate SME input into feature vectors for analytic development and testing.
• Translate customer qualitative goals into quantitative models coded into software prototypes.
• Develop statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
