Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a summer student for hands-on data engineering and analytics development in a Databricks environment. You will design and optimize data flows, perform back-end data work, and contribute to ETL workflows for model pipelines.

The role includes cross-team collaboration and learning the business domain. Ideal candidates are pursuing relevant degrees, can commit to full-time summer hours and part-time during the school year, and have experience with Python, PyTorch, and PySpark.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in a data-related field.
Active enrollment in an accredited college/university.
Able to commit to full-time on summer schedule (up to 40 hours/week).
Able to commute to the designated work location for hybrid work.
Preferred coursework covers ML, ML, Data Systems, Python, Data Engineering, Cloud Computing.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize business processes and data flows within Databricks/XDF.
Perform front-end user-facing work and back-end data engineering and analytics development in Databricks.
Contribute to model inputs/outputs, ETL for model workflows, and integration with enterprise data platforms.
Support ad hoc analytics and modeling initiatives across the company.
Partner with teams to deliver data-driven solutions and learn the business domain.
Communicate findings and recommendations.
Develop data products in Databricks.
Work with Python, SQL, Git, and cloud-based analytics tooling.
