Job summary

SupportFinity™ is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to join our team in Irvine, California. In this role, you will develop data science models for our clinical diagnostic business and write production-ready code.

Overview

We are looking for a hands‑on Data Scientist Intern to join our team in Irvine, CA. You will be involved in the development of data science models for the clinical diagnostic business. Your duties will include understanding the business need, developing a data science solution, and writing production‑ready code.

Location

This position must be based in Irvine, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Participate in team meetings to stay updated on project progress and align with team goals.
  • Understand business requirements and convert them into effective data science solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists to understand the full data science life cycle from data collection and preprocessing to model development and deployment.
  • Maintain coding standards.
  • Assist team members with various tasks, contributing to the overall success of the projects.
What You Bring
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university, in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent field. Eligible candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students who intend to return to their academic program the following academic year.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
  • Knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Experience with databases and SQL.
  • Cloud experience preferred.
  • Prior internship experience preferred.

Compensation

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $25.00 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job‑permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
