Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist II to design and deploy ML models at scale, collaborating with ML Engineers, Data Engineers and Product teams.

You'll work on content classification, NLP and generative models, using Python, Spark, and PyTorch, and communicate results to stakeholders with clear documentation. This is an on-site role in Chicago with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of post‑qualification experience developing ML models at scale
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience building ML pipelines and distributed data processing like Spark or Databricks
• Intermediate level in at least three of: classification algorithms, NLP, search, information retrieval, named entity recognition, deep learning, generative models
• Intermediate level or greater with SQL or PySpark
• Bachelor's or Master's in quantitative discipline such as Statistics, CS, Data Science or AI

Responsibilities

• Focus on content classification use cases leveraging traditional NLP and LLMs
• Investigate scalable methods to solve challenging problems
• Collaborate with other Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and ML Data Engineers
• Use Scikit‑learn, NumPy, PyTorch, and third‑party LLM APIs
• Process large data with Python, SQL, and Spark
• Document approaches and results clearly for stakeholders
