Job summary

Socure is the leading provider of digital identity verification and fraud prevention solutions. We are seeking a Data Scientist II to join our Digital Intelligence team to develop machine learning features and production‑oriented risk signals using device, network, browser, mobile, API, session, and telemetry.

This hands‑on role requires independence and strong collaboration with engineering, product, and risk teams to improve fraud detection and customer outcomes while contributing to models

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in data science, ML, or analytics engineering.
• Experience building and evaluating ML models and features.
• Strong SQL skills with large-scale data experience.
• Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with distributed processing tools (Spark, PySpark, Databricks).
• Understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, model evaluation, and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML features, models, and analytical methods across device, network, and behavioral telemetry.
• Work on fraud and identity risk problems with data quality and telemetry considerations.
• Build features from large-scale, noisy telemetry data.
• Analyze signal patterns like spoofing, emulator behavior, proxies, and device fragmentation.
• Design and run validation analyses: train/test splits, drift, leakage, and impact assessments.
• Apply supervised, unsupervised, statistical, and heuristic approaches to signals.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, risk, and platform teams for data prep and production rollout.
• Contribute to model docs, feature definitions, explainability materials, and dashboards.
• Communicate methods, findings, and limitations to stakeholders; mentor juniors.
