Job summary

Socure Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist II to join our Digital Intelligence team in New York. You will develop machine learning features and production-oriented risk signals using device, network, browser, mobile, API, session, and behavioral telemetry.

This hands-on role requires independent delivery of scoped projects, collaboration with engineering, product, and risk teams, and advancement of models used in real-world fraud detection and identity verification decisions.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of data science or related technical experience.
• Experience building and enhancing ML models, features, and risk signals.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets.
• Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with distributed data processing tools (e.g., Spark, PySpark, Databricks).
• Understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, model evaluation, and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML features, models, and analytical methods for device, network, browser, mobile, session, and behavioral signals.
• Tackle fraud and identity risk problems with data quality, labels, telemetry, and product tradeoffs.
• Build features from large-scale, high-cardinality telemetry.
• Analyze signal patterns such as spoofing, proxies, and telemetry gaps.
• Design and run validation analyses, including train/test splits, leakage checks, and drift assessment.
• Use supervised, unsupervised, statistical, and heuristic methods to identify durable signals.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, risk, and platform teams to productionize modeling work.
• Contribute to model documentation, feature definitions, and explainability artifacts.
