Sony Interactive Entertainment in San Mateo, CA seeks a Senior Principal Engineer, Data & Machine Learning to serve as chief architect for the Data & Intelligence organization. You will shape the architecture, drive reuse, and set standards across the team’s data and ML platforms.

This hands-on IC role requires mentoring engineers, guiding cross-functional partners, and producing concrete designs that translate strategy into production.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software, data or ML engineering.
• 9+ years leading the architecture and delivery of large-scale systems.
• Experience taking data/ML systems into production at scale.
• Experience chairing an architecture review forum.
• Ability to influence executives and peers without direct authority.
• Strong written communication and mentorship for senior engineers.

Responsabilités

• Translate multi-year Data & Intelligence strategy into a technical architecture with reusable data products and ML platforms.
• Chair the architecture review forum and publish decisions.
• Define and ratify standards for contracts, evaluation, observability and lifecycle management.
• Lead cross-organizational initiatives and produce reference designs & prototypes for production.
• Mentor Staff/Principal engineers and collaborate with security, privacy and governance teams.
• Represent SIE's data and ML direction in senior leadership forums and industry discussions.
