Job summary

University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Data Scientist to support data-informed decision-making within the Provost’s Office. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver analyses on student success, enrollment trends, rankings, and program evaluations.

The role requires experience with statistical analyses (SAS, R, SPSS, Python), SQL, and Tableau, plus a Master’s degree in a related field. This is a hybrid position with standard campus schedule.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related field is required.
• Experience conducting and interpreting statistical analyses using SAS, R, SPSS, Python is required.
• Proficient in SQL query writing and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a team environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct projects to support data-informed decision-making within the Provost’s Office.
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver analyses addressing student success, enrollment trends, rankings, and program evaluations.
• Design, conduct, and interpret statistical analyses using common tools and techniques including regression, ML, data mining, and clustering.
